Beers & Bling: Engagement Photos with Bridget & Aaron

Two of my favorite, favorite, favorite people are getting MARRIED!! Bridget and I were best friends in high school. By senior year we were SO ready to get the frick out of that place and leave our hometown in Michigan behind (anyone able to related?!)

Only we didn’t realize that going away to college in different states, on opposite sides of the country, meant that we would eventually lose touch. Life got busy, as it does, and we just sort of stopped talking other than the occasional, “OMG I miss you!” or likes on social media. But last summer, her now-fiance was visiting medical schools and they ended up heading out to good old Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was so pumped to reconnect, but I didn’t realize that the day we spent together would give me my best friend back. And hand me a new one in Aaron. And then I got to capture both of them in their engagement photos?! UGH. What more could I ask for?

Seriously, though. This girl makes my heart happy. And seeing her happy with this awesome guy gives me all of the feels. They are literally perfect. Aaron is Bridget’s perfect match. He’ll take care of her, support her and goes out of his way to adopt all of her friends as his own (like me – hi, friend!)

Last month, I got to visit them and take their engagement photos. I don’t know if I’ve ever had more fun on a shoot. It felt like old times, only better because we’re much cooler now and also: beer. One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is seeing my couples in their element together. The couple of hours we spent at Huss Brewing Co. and the Desert Botanical Garden made me fall even more in love with Bridget and Aaron. We’d all be lucky to find a love like this.

I feel so lucky that I got to create these images for them. We had such a blast together trekking around their hometown in Arizona. I wish I could spend every weekend like this. Love you both forever and ever. I cannot wait to party on your big day!
