What’s better than sunshine-y, warm summer nights on the lake? You guessed it. Absolutely nothing. We waited weeks of rained-out Thursdays for this session to happen and wow was it worth that wait. I am dying to share all of the photos from Bri & Nick’s summer sunset engagement photo session with you.
This session started in their home and the stories they told about how that home was a part of their love story made me squeal. They found each other online and quickly realized that they actually already lived in each other’s backyards. They sent each other photos of their homes and had a “wait a minute….” moment before figuring out their homes were kitty-corner from each other.
They spent the last year and then some quarantining together and Bri eventually moved into Nick’s beautiful house. They share that home with three perfectly sweet pups and a cat named Wallace with the biggest eyes I’ve ever seen. We started their session there, in the home they’ve grown together in, with their fur babies right there with them.
Next, we went out to Wayzata to get some photos at the water. (After my GPS sent me on a slight detour… grateful to these two and their laid-back nature for dealing with my delay!)
Funny story: We had originally hoped to shoot two weeks earlier but rain delayed us a week. And then it delayed us again. But it’s like it was meant to be. The weather, the light and the joy from finally getting to do this came through so strongly in this gallery. I’m truly so grateful to Bri and Nick for sharing their story, their home and the joy of capturing this incredible time in their lives with me.
I cannot wait for the wedding this November. I’ll be over here obsessing over their perfect summer sunset engagement photo session until then. Stay tuned from more from this gorgeous pair!
