I love a unique wedding venue and even better when it’s a hidden gem that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the next Disney live-action movie. The Woods Chapel is a beautiful spot for the couple looking to say I do while embracing the outdoors in the heart of Minnesota.
The Woods Chapel Wedding Venue
Here’s what I loved about this venue: it felt like an absolute fairytale. This particular day was cloudy and rainy, and honestly, in a heavily wooded area, I was a little nervous about our outdoor photos. We would make it work but I never imagined it would be so truly stunning. Here are some of the spots at the Wood Chapel wedding venue in Orono, Minnesota that made it extra special.
The getting ready cottage: From the outside, I didn’t know what to expect, but I definitely didn’t expect the all-white, beautifully set up wedding suite coming. The white interior helps to reflect light and make the room feel roomy and inviting. It was the perfect space for final touches and photos of you and your people getting ready for the main event.
The pond and woods: When we’re talking about The Woods Chapel wedding venue, you knew we were getting to the woods. This space really blew me away. The wooded area feels so intimate and the pond lets in a ring of light to illuminate the space. We got lucky enough to have a completely still day, so the water on the pond created a perfect reflection and helped us make some truly stunning images for Amy and Jonathan.
The chapel itself: This was a gorgeous option for a church wedding. No dark spaces without a single window in this chapel. The warm wood and white cathedral ceiling make the space feel open and welcoming. It also makes for a beautiful focal point and creates some wonderful symmetry. As far as church weddings go, it’s hard to beat a backdrop like The Woods Chapel.
