I’ll do almost anything for a great photo, including hiding in a bush any chance get to do some Minneapolis proposal photography without giving myself away. This is exactly what I did for Sarah and Josh last month to capture the emotional, joyful images of one of the biggest moments in their lives together so far.
Minneapolis Proposal Photography Tips
If you want a photographer to capture your proposal story, here’s a few tips to share with your partner popping the question:
Communicate clearly that you want your proposal photographed: If you’re the one being proposed to, make sure to let your person know how important it is to you that you have a photographer document your proposal. Sarah did this and it ensured Josh knew exactly how to make it perfect for his future bride.
Work with a photographer well ahead of time: Give us time to help you plan (if you want it!) Lean on your photographer for lighting, time of day, and backdrops to ensure you get incredible images for the best photos. Don’t worry, we’re not here to change your plans, just to make suggestions that will create the best images possible without taking away from the moment in any way.
Plan for light and bystanders: This is also where your photographer can help! Let’s say you had your first date on a busy local pier and want to go back to where it all started. You should do EXACTLY what you want for this big moment, but you will need to keep in mind that there will likely be bystanders witnessing it all (and ending up in the background of your photos!) If you wanted a more private moment, your photographer may have recommendations. Consider something like taking a walk on the pier and ending up on the beach nearby, so the pier in is the background of those photos without all the extra people hanging around.
Plan a cute date beforehand: Not only does this help throw you off the trail, but planning a date before you pop the question can help you set the mood. Plus, it means you’re both looking your best for the big moment!
Follow these steps to get photos just like these of your Minneapolis proposal!
